My Story

FEB 8 2013
I started working at the age of 16, looking for a way to support myself. I got my first experience as an apprentice at my relative’s barbershop. While going to school during the day, I spent my free time at the shop, learning the trade. Back then, we didn’t get paid — only tips — but I didn’t want to be a burden to my family.
It was a busy and exhausting time, but I learned the foundations of barbering and always pushed myself to improve, even while continuing my education.
Later, I moved to another city for university to study Medical Laboratory Technology. I took a break from barbering for a while, but after graduation, I returned — this time as a professional. I began to earn real income and grow my skills.
Eventually, I opened my own barbershop inside a shopping mall. With a team of four barbers, business was going well, and I started to see my full potential. But over time, life became routine. Then, the economic crisis in Turkey and the growing stress among people started to affect the industry — and me too.
That’s when I made the decision to move to the United States — to improve my English, grow as a barber, and share my skills with new people in a new place.
This is just the beginning.
